Insomnia

Can’t sleep
with go-karts running
trackless
in my head.
My eyes are closed
yet the ceiling
is crystal clear.
You just wait
and wait
and wait
to get drowsy.
You may see
dawn and are glad
it is fall
because dawn
comes later.
